Acting Coaching

Drawing from her varied professional experience both behind and in front of the camera, Lainey coaches actors for TV/Film auditions, self-tapes, callbacks/recalls, booked roles, as well as for general scene practice.

Lainey has experience working with both emerging and more seasoned actors -- from kids and teens, to adults of any age. She can provide guidance in various areas including:

- Finding a naturalistic yet defined arc within a scene

- Helping make memorable choices

- Nailing pacing, comedic timing, and line delivery

- Exploring deeper and/or more complex emotions

- Understanding unfamiliar characters, intentions, and subtext

- Developing backstory, sense of place, and the "moment before"

- Analyzing a character's journey throughout scenes/the script

- Self-taping technique (& reading in for your tapes)

- Discovering your confidence in order to present your best self

- Career-related advice & detailed feedback on materials

- Understanding the casting process

- Achieving an authentic American accent

- Helping select scenes to work on & choosing takes of self-tapes

Coaching sessions are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes long (via Zoom), dependent on the length of the material and detail of coaching required. As sessions take place online, Lainey can also coach international actors.
